Description
-
Design for a frieze filled with a meandering acanthus scroll and various figures. On the right side of the frieze a male hybrid satyr, whose lower body morphs into the acanthus scroll is fighting with a lion who bites his arm. In the acanthus scroll, which is characterized by three loops across the frieze, a snake with a fantastical head, a dragon and two playful putti are depicted.
