Interior, dolphin surrounded by marine creatures
Exterior, women and youthsMarine life figures prominently in the subject matter of South Italian vase-painting. Here, a dolphin swims above a sea-bream; the surrounding band contains a hornshell, spotted torpedo, sea bream, stargazer, and red mullet. The fish are framed by a vine tendril and the reverse includes bunches of grapes.
