Description
-
It is probable that the composition decorating this plate derives from a drawing by the Dutch artist Cornelis Pronk (1691–1759), who is known to have furnished designs to the Dutch East India Company. Pronk’s drawings were widely employed by Chinese porcelain painters as sources of decoration for porcelain intended for export to Europe.
