Description
-
In this three-part composition the central female figure holds by the bridle two horses with female riders, who, in their turn, hold by the bridle two smaller horses which are based on the larger horses backs. Minor horse figures are seen under the bodies of the largest ones, and the interstices are filled with diamond-forms and solar signs. The upper border displays highly stylized female figures and S-shaped forms producing continuous, waving lines. A repeat horse-and-rider motif is contained in the outer border. The narrow ornamental strips show formalised female figures.
