The three-part composition is formed of a double-headed eagle containing a minor horse image inscribed in a square; it is flanked with larger horses posed back to back. On either side of the eagle figure is a large, highly stylized bird which contains two minor birds inscribed in two circles. The upper border is filled with a peacock motif, while the outer border is a row of ‘bird boats’.
