Description
-
The wheel-shaped spokeless type of kvass pitcher was termed in local parlance the kvassnik; indeed it was used mostly to hold this beverage and keep it cold. The representation of three birds perched on twigs has been tastefully integrated with the shape, whose silhouette repeats in some measure the contour of the depicted scene, that is further enhanced by the splashes of colour. A true masterpiece of decorative painting.
